The real problem
A specialised women’s health clinic built strong organic demand while based in Johor Bahru, especially for endometriosis, PCOS, and related gynaecological care. The practice then relocated to Petaling Jaya.
That move created a second problem on top of specialist SEO: Google still associated much of the site’s local authority with Johor. Address, maps, and entity signals had to catch up in a market that is far more competitive than Johor Bahru. Petaling Jaya sits inside the Klang Valley stack of specialists, hospitals, and overlapping local packs. Roughly speaking, local competition density is on another tier, about 10x harder than the previous city footprint.
The goal was not only national niche rankings. It was to survive the relocation dip, keep condition authority intact, and let crawl and local signals rebuild so the graph could climb again.
What we built
We kept the specialist content system and tightened local recovery around the new address:
- Condition landing pages for endometriosis, PCOS, adenomyosis, microwave ablation, ovarian cysts, and related women’s health intents.
- Patient guides that answer diagnostic language patients actually type (including medical abbreviations and “what does this term mean” queries).
- NAP, location pages, and local entity cleanup for the Petaling Jaya address so Google could detach old Johor geo-signals without wiping specialty authority.
- A national + cross-border query structure so KL, Petaling Jaya, and international searchers still landed on the right condition pages while local maps recovered.

The relocation dip (what the graph is saying)
Through mid-2025 the practice was still climbing: June 2025 peaked at 402 clicks / 18.8K impressions. From September 2025 the curve breaks: clicks fall to 126, then into the 45–73 range through early 2026, with impressions compressed from ~20K toward ~3.5K–9K.
That trough lines up with the Johor Bahru → Petaling Jaya address change. When a clinic moves cities:
- Googlebot and local systems lag. New NAP, maps pins, and page geo-context are not instant. Crawl, reprocessing, and re-ranking take months, especially when specialty pages already rank nationally.
- The new market is harder. Petaling Jaya / Klang Valley competition is an order of magnitude denser than Johor Bahru for women’s health and specialist local packs. Even correct pages can sit lower until trust and proximity signals re-accumulate.
- Authority does not vanish overnight. Condition pages kept a floor of impressions while local demand re-anchored. That is why the trough is ugly on clicks but not a flat zero on impressions.
The pickup
From March 2026, impressions start rebuilding (8.1K → 8.9K), then June–July 2026 show the real turn: 243 clicks / 17.1K impressions in June and 233 clicks / 13.1K on a partial July window. The graph is picking up after several months of crawl and local recovery, not from a one-week fix.
Audience mix (screenshot period): 76.2% Malaysia, 23.8% international (including Singapore-side demand), which still supports cross-border specialist intent on top of the domestic rebuild.
Note: Absolute click volume stays specialist-scale. The story here is relocation resilience plus niche ownership, not mass GP traffic.
Specialty query dominance
With a non-brand click share of 43.9% in the measured window, high-stakes medical queries still carried the practice through and after the move:
- Best endometriosis specialist Malaysia: average position 1.6 (76 clicks).
- Endometriosis specialist Malaysia: average position 2.1 (63 clicks).
- Dub in medical term (Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding): average position 5.1.
- Dub medical abbreviation: average position 10.6.
- Best female gynaecologist in KL: average position 7.4.
The endometriosis service page remained a top organic landing path (627 clicks), followed by vaginal health / infection (153 clicks). Condition pages for PCOS, adenomyosis, microwave ablation, and ovarian cysts kept specialised intent alive while local geo signals caught up in Petaling Jaya.
Takeaway for medical specialists
Relocating a clinic is an SEO event, not only a logistics event. Expect a multi-month dip while Google recrawls the new address and while you compete in a denser city. Protect condition authority with specialist pages, fix NAP and local entities early, and judge recovery on the shape of the graph after the trough, not on the worst month alone.
For specialists, owning a short list of high-stakes medical queries (endometriosis and related care) is what keeps patient demand available while local packs rebuild in a market like Petaling Jaya.
